1.
Where can I sign my child up for Day Camp?
Registration is on our website or visit the Great Neck House to sign up in person.
2.
What are the hours of operation?
8:30AM (Drop-Off) - 4:30PM (Pick-Up)
3.
What forms do I need for camp?
Health forms, with a copy of your child's physical and immunizations, must be submitted to camp prior to your child's first day. A rock climbing waiver is required for participation in these activities.
4.
Can I visit my child during camp operation hours?
As a camp, we are not in favor of onsite visitation but will make accommodations if necessary.
5.
What should my child wear to camp?
Campers are expected to wear their Camp Parkwood shirts, along with comfortable shorts and sneakers, but may not wear flip-flops or sandals, unless they are at the pool. Expect them to get dirty!
6.
What should my child bring to camp?
Campers should bring a backpack filled with: a bathing suit, Ziploc bag for wet clothes, a change of clothes, flip-flops for pool and a tennis racket.
7.
Is there anything my child cannot bring?
Yes, please do not send IPods, cell phones, portable video games or other toys. Camp is a place for socializing and many of these things create distractions. They also get lost and broken.
8.
Do you provide lunch?
Parents may opt to purchase lunches through the camp program. If a camper brings his/her lunch from home, it must be in a cooler bag, with the camper's name written on it. No refrigeration will be provided.
9.
Do you provide towel service?
NEW THIS YEAR!!!
Complimentary towels are provided for each camper at every swim.
10.
What if my child doesn't know the other campers?
Our professional staff is trained in group dynamics. Each Monday we have new campers arrive at Camp Parkwood and our staff engages campers in welcoming activities. Your child's fun and safety is our #1 priority. Homesickness does occur even at day camp. Our staff is trained to help children adjust to a new environment.
11.
What if my child doesn't go on an optional trip?
Optional trips are special days at Camp Parkwood. Schedules are tailored to the interests of the campers who have chosen to stay behind.
