Last year, a program at Great Neck North High School was started to recognize veterans, who are Great Neck residents, for the Memorial Day and Veterans Day holidays.
On Wednesday, Nov. 9, father and son veterans, Nathaniel Gray, Sr. and Nathaniel Gray, Jr., were honored for their military service during a ceremony at Great Neck North.
Nathaniel Grey, Sr., originally from Alabama, but living in Great Neck since the early 70s, is a Viet Nam vet who served in the infantry from 1967-69.
His son, Nathaniel Gray, Jr., served in the armed forces for two Iraq tours (2004-05 and 2008-09) as an army turret gunner, a vehicle maintenance specialist and in convoy operations.
Nathaniel Jr. is also a valued employee of the Great Neck Park District. We are extremely proud of his accomplishments.
The Great Neck Park District appreciates you and all who serve(d) our country!
Thank you both for your service!
