Notice of Positive COVID-19 Case 4/13/21

Dear GNPD Community:

On April 13, 2021, the GNPD received notification that a Skate School Employee at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink tested positive for COVID-19. Due to privacy laws, information regarding the identity of this individual will remain confidential.

The GNPD will continue to follow all protocols that it has adopted with respect to the positive test, in conjunction with the Department of Health, which was immediately notified when we learned of the positive test. Those protocols include a ten (10) day quarantine for the impacted employee. No other participants of the program were affected by this positive COVID-19 case.

We have notified all that may have been identified as a person who potentially would have had contact with the impacted employee. Anyone who is not directly notified can conclude that they have not been deemed a close or proximate contact, and there is nothing more they need to do at this time.

The GNPD will continue to abide by all relevant protocols, which include, among other things, wearing masks, washing hands, social distancing, and daily cleaning/sanitizing of facilities to mitigate the risk to participants and staff in the event a positive case was identified. Park District protocols for programs and facilities can be found in our Restarting for Operations manual during the COVID-19 pandemic at https://gnpd.dcatalog.com/v/GNPD-Restarting-of-Operations-Plan-10302020/?page=1.

The health and safety of our community is and will remain our number one priority.

Sincerely,
Anthony DiDomenico
Assistant Superintendent of Parks
