Rink Permits

Availability


The Ice Rink is open from early September to mid-June.

In general, the only available times to rent the ice would be during school hours or after 10:00 p.m.

Fees


Please contact the rink director for current hourly rates.

There is a minimum of 2 hours for each reservation. 

Skate rentals, party hosts or skating instruction not included.

Insurance


During the Term, Permit Holder shall maintain commercial general liability insurance on an occurrence basis with combined single limit for bodily injury  and property damage of at least $2,000,000 per occurrence issued by an insurer duly licensed as such in the State of New York, with an A.M. Best rating of not less than A-VII, under which policy the “Board of Commissioners of the Great Neck Park District” shall be identified as an additional insured party by specific endorsement to such policy on ISO Form CO2010 (1985). The Permit Holder shall deliver to the Park District, prior to effectiveness of this Permit, an original certificate of insurance evidencing the foregoing. The liability insurance required hereunder must cover all persons at any time in or upon any Rink facilities pursuant to this Permit. If any person, group or team that Permit Holder presents as a Permitted User under this Permit is not covered by such liability insurance then such person, group or team must present its own liability insurance satisfying all of the above requirements.

Permit Rules and Regulations


**Subject to change per contract agreement

1.    All permit fee payments must be paid timely and in full, or this permit shall be deemed terminated.

2.    Permit Holder, its employees, agents, students, and guests (collectively, “Permitted Users”), shall be entitled to enter upon the Rink Facilities (defined below) 30 minutes prior to the commencement of each Permit Period (defined below), and must vacate the Rink Facilities not later than 30 minutes after each Permit Period. Permit Holder acknowledges that the Rink Facilities are used by other persons and entities, either under permit or as Park District residents, and the time frames established for each Permit Period must be strictly abided by. Failure of Permit Holder to relinquish use and occupancy of the Rink Facilities promptly shall authorize the Park District to terminate this Permit. In any such event, all Permit Fees paid through the date of termination shall be the property of the Park District, and shall not be refunded.

3.    “Rink Facilities” shall refer to: (a) Ice-skating rink surface; (b) locker rooms; (c) public areas of Ice Rink including Lounge and off ice rooms UNLESS those areas are requested by the Great Neck Park District;  (d) Ice Control/music room;  (f) adjoining parking lot and (g) Skybox.

4.    The use of all Rink Facilities during each Permit Period shall be subject in all respects to, and Permit Holder shall abide by, all Park District rules and regulations applicable thereto, and any directions issued to Permit Holder by the Park District’s Board of Commissioners or the Rink Facility Manager.  

5.    The Park District shall provide a Zamboni ice resurfacing machine prior to each Permit Period

6.    Permit Holder shall be responsible for maintaining order in all public areas of the Rink Facilities, including the adjoining parking lot, before, during and after each Permit Period.

7.    This permit may not be assigned by Permit Holder. Any attempt assignment hereof shall be deemed null and void and of no force or effect.

8.    Permit Holder understands there will be NO CREDITS OR REFUNDS OF PERMIT FEES GIVEN FOR ANY CANCELLATION OF ANY PERMIT PERIOD UNLESS MUTUALLY AGREED TO PRIOR TO CANCELLATION. Permit holder will however notify the Great Neck Park District if they will not be using any scheduled Permit Period.

10.    This Permit does not authorize the sale of food, drink, tickets, programs or merchandise, the solicitation or collection of contributions, advertising, marketing, or the distribution of handouts, at any time within the Rink Facilities, including the adjoining parking lot. All of the foregoing activities are expressly prohibited.

11.    No alcoholic beverages are permitted and glass bottles, food, or containers not purchased from authorized facilities at the Rink Facilities are permitted within the Rink Facilities without prior consent and approval by the concessionaire AND the Great Neck Park District.

12.    The Great Neck Park District shall not be responsible for the loss of or damage to personal property or injury to or death of anyone using the Rink Facilities.

13.    The Board of Commissioners of the Great Neck Park District, reserves the right to cancel any scheduled Permit Period, with or without prior notice to Permit Holder, in the event that the Board determines that doing so is in the best interest of the Park District. The Park District shall refund to Permit Holder the portion of the permit fee allocable to any Permit Period so canceled by the Park District. The Park District shall not be liable for any loss, liability, cost or expense incurred by Permit Holder or any third party that arises from or in connection with cancelation by the Park District of any Permit Period, all of which shall be borne by Permit Holder or such third party.

14.    Permit Holder shall be responsible to the Park District for any damage or destruction of Park District Property, including, without limitation, locker rooms, restrooms, lounge and rink facilities, furniture, fixtures or personal property.
