New York Rangers - Learn To Play

We are continuing our partnership with the New York Rangers and the NHL for the 2020-21 season, with our "Learn-to-Play" program! Part of an initiative set forth by the NHL and USA Hockey, this introductory level program is designed to promote the sport of Ice Hockey to new generations of athletes. The Learn-to-Play Hockey Program follows USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM) using cross-ice instruction to create a fun, active environment for all children. Join the Great Neck Park District and the New York Rangers this upcoming season for one of our sessions!

NYR Learn-to-Play:

Session 1:

Sundays, September 20-November 22

9 -10 a.m. OR 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

This is a 10-week introductory level co-ed hockey program which caters to players ages 5-10. A max capacity of 25 participants is permitted for each session and space is limited, so it is important to register now!

Learning to play hockey is more than just learning a game. More than skating, passing and stick-handling, hockey is about responsibility, respect and teamwork.  Learn to Play on-ice instruction plans have been developed in collaboration with experts from USA Hockey and Hockey Canada and taught by certified instructors and led by National Hockey League Alumni.

The program fee is a low $250 which includes head-to-toe equipment, for your child to keep!  (However, there is a participation fee associated with the program which offsets ice and coaching expenses).

Choose Sunday, 9-10 a.m. OR 10:30-11:30 a.m. (two options- you can only register for one).

Registration is through the Rangers website - CLICK HERE.

Some of our policies regarding COVID are listed below, although we are still firming up all the details for a safe and enjoyable program for everyone.
