NY Rangers - Learn To Play (Ages 5-9)

We are continuing our partnership with the New York Rangers and the NHL for the 2021-22 season, with our Learn-to-Play program. Part of an initiative, set forth by the NHL and USA Hockey, this introductory-level program is designed to promote the sport of Ice Hockey to new generations of athletes. The Learn-to-Play Hockey Program follows USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM) using cross-ice instruction to create a fun, active environment for all children. Join the Great Neck Park District and the New York Rangers this upcoming season for our NYR Learn-to-Play program.

NYR Learn-to-Play (ages 5-9)

Sundays, September 12 - November 14

9 -10 a.m. OR 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

This is a 10-week introductory level co-ed hockey program. There's a max capacity of 65 participants for each time slot. Space is limited, so it is important to register as soon as possible.

Learning to play hockey is more than just learning a game. More than skating, passing and stick-handling, hockey is about responsibility, respect and teamwork. Learn to Play on-ice instruction has been developed in collaboration with experts from USA Hockey and Hockey Canada. It is taught by certified instructors and led by National Hockey League Alumni.

The fee is a low $295 which includes head-to-toe equipment, for each child to keep, however, there is a participation fee associated with the program which offsets ice and coaching expenses.

Runs Sundays at 9-10 a.m. OR 11-12 p.m. (two options- you can only register for one).

Registration is through the Rangers website. Click on session of choice below:
