We offer intramural and competitive hockey programs. Our coaching staff is comprised of a number of college alumni hockey players who inspire our younger generation. Residents and non-residents are welcome to our hockey program, which is a close-knit community. Both players and parents are proud of the jerseys they wear and their home rink. Teammates develop strong bonds, a valuable work ethic and learn sportsmanship, all while playing the game they love.
Former two-time NHL champion and Stanley cup winner, Grant Marshall, is back on the Great Neck Park District hockey team, as Director of Player and Coach Development. He will be working with both the travel and in-house Bruins hockey programs at practices and games.
The Bruins Hockey program consists of six teams ranging from Mite 8U to Midget 18U. Players try out to earn the opportunity to compete in the Long Island Amateur Hockey League. This program requires commitment from the children, as well as from their parents. The average season stretches from September through March. It includes between approximately 30 to 40 games plus two tournaments. Click here for more details about our Bruins teams and registration information.
The Bruin's FUN-damental Hockey program is our intramural hockey program. It is an introductory level team that requires no prior hockey experience. Children on the Bruin's team are on the ice three times a week. Monday and Tuesday are primarily reserved for training sessions, focused on improving individual hockey skills. On Friday, the coaches create several teams, allowing the players to scrimmage while having fun. Click here for more details about our Bruin's teams and registration information.
